Hi Gary,
I went back and found your earlier post and now I have the same things
checked in layout as you do.  To turn off Outlook I just do an Alt F4 and to
bring it back up is to hit the left windows key, O to take it to Outlook and
then I enter to access it.  I will see what happens.
