Mark, I have a Panasonic KX-TG9341T CORDLESS PHONE.  It has an answering 
machine, but I don't use it.  Although not all of its functions speak, it 
has a clear sound.  I wish the triple A batteries that came with had more 
battery life, but it does work well.
