Subject: echolink again

Hi Marlaina.
Sounds like it's either the info.txt file or an issue with the refreshing
of the station list on the pc of the connecting station.
I say this because when you make changes the list at your end will
auto-refresh if memory serves correctly.
Whereas, the list's refresh rate for the connecting station is an unknown
though it's probable that it didn't refresh before connecting to you.
Also, fyi, the info.txt can be found by using windows/ explorer/my computer
and going to:
c:\program files\k1rfd\echolink.txt
I should be on echolink a bit over the week-end.
Give me a call.
In edition to getting to know one another and having a qso, ya never know I
might even be able to solve your issue.

Ed,

I have done all of what you say; it shows me in those dialogue boxes as
k7NLH Marlaina and Seattle as my QTH. I see myself as K7NLH on the station
list, but everybody else sees Gary K7NLG.

Subject: echolink

Good evening to everyone following and interested in the echolink
discussion on the list.
First, I must correct a previous note in this thread regarding the ports
used by the program, in edition to ports 5198 and 5199 (already mentioned)
which are udp, echolink also used 5200 tcp/ip.
Further, in regard to the problem which Marlaina (sorry if I spelled your
last name wrong) is experiencing, simply use the change call sign option.
You can find this by starting the program, going to tools, then setup, then
choose the "my station" tab, from there tab to "change call sign" and hit
your space bar.
From here you are returned to the "my station" tab of "tools, setup" and
in edition to entering your call sign Marlaina you will need to update any
other info that's different from your husband's such as your name.
If I can help either Junior, Marlaina, or anyone else, feel free to write
at [log in to unmask] or find me on Echolink and I'd be happy to do so though I
must tell folks that I am on the program much less of late as I am quite
busy with work and other commitments.
73 to all.
