G M John.  I do have the A G C  on but it just seems a more radical 
difference between the loud and the weaker sigs.  When I notice it the most 
is when looking for the weaker D X stations and then if you move across a 
strong sig, it jumps out stronger than i would expect. Anyway it is a nice 
radio.  guess I just got used to the Ten-Tec rigs after many years of use.
