Hi Tom,
A mac is probably a little more stable computer because it is a closed
operating system. Because the operating system of the Mac is restricted by
Apple, your choice in programs is more limited. Myself, I wouldn't touch a
Mac with a ten foot pole, but each to his own. I have played with Linux
using Ubuntu and Orcha, but it has a long way to go to be as friendly as
windows, but at least, most programs are opened source.
Regarding Vista, my XYL has a Vista laptop, The menus are a little different
and the system is slower, but not imposible. Microsoft is supposed to be
coming out with Windows 7 by the beginning of 2010 because Vista has been a
flop for microsoft. Only time will tell. If you do get Vista and really
don't like it, you can always put an old XP system on it, that's what a lot
of businesses are doing!
