In answer to Mr. Neufeld's message:

1. Of course they put in features like a cw decoder. If they don't make the
rig desirable to a farely wide audience, they won't sell enough of them to
even try to be accessible.

2. Elecraft already makes one 99% accessible rig right out of the box, the
kx1. They also designed an accessible add-on for the k2. While not
perfect, the krc2 gives access to nearly all the k2's displays and menus.

3. both the krc2 access and the proposed access for the k3 will be software
upgradeable; unlike the solutions from kenwood, icom and yaesu.

4. Where are the milllion dollar engineering teams from kenwood, icom, etc.
on accessibility. Icom's answer is the same ut-102 they have sold for over
ten years.
From what I've heard, yaesu's latest still doesn't speak any of the menus.
Only kenwood seems to be improving somewhat.

In short, give elecraft a little time. They'll come through for us.

And finally, where's tentec?

I'll crawl back into my hole now.
