Pat you raise an interesting point here which leads to a question. I
suspect you are talking about a yaggie or similar antenna. What about a
quad? Would you than be referring to the boom height or the base line
of the lowest spreader or wire section?

Gery,
If you are thinking about 20 meters, you need about 30 feet minimum
height for effective pattern on that band. (around a half wave is the
rule of thumb, and higher is usually better!)

Any reccomendations on towers or may push-up masts? I'm thinking that
in order to get aything up a descent height I may need something a
little taller than the 20 feet of antenna mast I am using now.
