This is one of those little annoying inconveniences I spoke of the other
day.  It's not enough to make me have second thoughts about using the
software, because it otherwise seems to work quite well.

My dilemma is that I'm trying to decide whether it has something to do with
this particular computer I'm using, or whether it's a problem inherent in
the software itself.

I do know that the latest upgrades were made to run effectively with Windows
7 computers, and my logging laptop is an XP machine, so I'm wondering if
that may be part of the problem.

I'm going to write Scott about this, and see what he says.

Tom, your problems with that software package is giving me serious second
thoughts about purchasing it. Is everyone here that is using the N3FJP
software having the same problem that Tom is encountering? If not, what
operating systems are the rest of you using and which speech program? I am
using Windows 7 with JFW 15, latest upgrade. I am also thinking about using
it on my other laptop with Vista on it and both JFW and NVDA.

I've done the alt control delete, and the task manager thing, and tried
ending the N3fJP task, but to no avail.

The laptop I use for ham radio logging is an older Windows XP machine, and
I'm using Jaws 14 with it.

I'm almost tempted to go back to an earlier version of Jaws on that machine
to see if the problem still occurs, but I hate to go through all that
trouble if it isn't necessary.

Hi Tom,

I've experienced the same problem at times.  One sure solution is to use
Control-Alt-Del to bring up the logout screen and then arrow down to task
manager.  Use it to close the N3FJP program.  I think Scott needs to address
the problem.
