Harry,

Do you have either a noise bridge or an swr meter?  You can't tune for max 
noise and get anywhere without either of the above.  You need a way to read 
your Swr or a noise bridge to tune for a null.

Hi all,
Well, $176.90, down the drain for the mfj949e.
I plug in the antenna into coax 1, and the jumper from the Kenwood 570, =
and the other end of the jumper to the transmit port, it's also an so239 =
connecter, and folks, I disabled the tuner in the 570, and adjusted for =
loudest noise, and there is no loudest noise!
So, it's a bad tuner.
Then, we have the kenwood kt1, autotuner, and so I tryed that. I plugged =
the antenna in to that tuner, and I pluged in the power cable that went =
from the kt1 to the radio.
Then, I press the tune button on the kt1, and no tuning noise. However, =
I then reenabled the autotuner in the radio, and pressed the tune button =
on the radio, and the kt1 tuner made a noise, like it's tuning it, but =
of course, we know that since the 570 tuner is now enabled, the kt1 is =
not gonna tune it.
I am so tired, just absolutely sick and tired, this is hell for me.
Also, Bob, k8lr, I'll call ya tomorrow, or, you can call me, best time =
is in the afternoon, between 1240 till 3, and anytime after 4.

I just wonder sometimes if I'm never ment to get on hf again.
I hope not, I just got the extra and I can't use it now.
