Hi Jerry;
I believe there is a switch on the top of the radio to turn the monitor on
or off. I would not expect you to hear any audio through the speaker unless
you turn the monitor on. You might plug in some head phones, turn up the
volume and see what your audio sounds like. There is a very small notch in
the audio knob. Once you figure out where the audio should be set for best
results without overdriving, just notice where that notch is located and it
will help you find that spot again if the audio gain is readjusted.

Subject: mic gain on ic751a

Since I can't see the needle for the mic gin, I turned it gradually.
After a certain poing, I can hear my audio through the external speaker
that I have connected to my radio. Is this normal?
