Wow! That's strange. I'm glad I'm careful with mine though with some of the 
antenna setups I've run at special events on my 706, it's a wonder I haven't 
done anything like that yet. I do have fun with that radio though, even if I 
think it is the worst receiver of all of my radios. The old MkII was a lot 
worse than the MKIIG I have now though. This receiver is tolerable and the 
auto notch is by far and away better than others I've worked with though I 
find all Icoms have a great auto notch filter, those that have one anyway. I 
should dig out my 706 1 of these days, I think the last time I used it was 
October for JOTA. I should set it up in here for a couple days I just don't 
know where.
