Hey Matt,

Don't set your link up on 146.52!

Set up on another simplex frequency. Simplex channels on the 2-meter
band plan are from 145-51-146.69, 147.50-147.59,
146.50-146.59. Possibly the areas between 146.40-146.49 and
147.40-147.49 as well, but these may be repeater inputs/outputs for
odd split (1MHz split) machines, as they are here.

You don't need a special call. Just yours. And you'd sign up for a
node as KB0CLY-L (dash, not slash). Yes, having an RF link would make
it possible for others to use it, assuming that your receiver could
hear it.

I'm actually considering setting up an Echolink and IRLP node
here...just for fun, mind you. Maybe I'll have to chat with Butch on
the merits of various radios for IRLP. I'd actually like to set up a
repeater (in the attic with separate transmit/receive antennas, I'm
too poor for duplexer!), but don't know if I'll ever be able to. But
still, it'd be fun.
