Kevin,

With the memory selected in MR mode, turn the power off and turn it back on 
while holding down the MR button.  You'll hear a beep, at which point you 
press the MR button to complete the erasure.  You'll hear a longer beep, and 
the memory will be cleared.  You'll be in VFO mode, with the memory contents 
stored in the VFO.  This is good in case you accidentally deleted the wrong 
memory because you can put it back immediately.
