Steve,

I have a tw1 and a sb220 Heathkit amp.

I press the forward power button or reflected power button until it gives a
series of beeps. I then have the hf rig in cw mode and key up. The amp has
grid and plate current adjustments. You will tune for maximum RF which
equates to a high or sudden rise in pitch. It is quite easy to use the tw1
for tuning.

The more the current or rf out the higher the pitch and is just like using
some of the older noise makers to tune an amp.
