just make sure you get galvanized chicken wire as the moisture from the 
ground will rust it.
You can probably get plastic coated chicken wire, and this would work fine 
as long as you strip the plastic back where you connect a hookup wire to the 
antenna.
that said, I really can't see how a 100FT roll of 18 or 22 gage speaker wire 
from radio shack can be less expensive than all that chicken wire...
On a 100 foot roll, you get two hundred feet if you unzip the wire...that 
will be plenty...i think i've seen a roll like that for less than $10.
go to a hire gage, like 16 or 14 gage for better results and you really 
won't spend that much more.
