Yes thanks, I plugged in the mike from my TMV71a and it did just that. It worked but the keypad didn't work. What are the differences between those two mikes you mentioned?

Hi,
I must differ, the mike for the TMV71A will work on the TM-V7A, butPF buttons will not work.  The correct mikes for the TM-V7A are the MC53DM andd the MC58DM only.  73. Gary KB2YAA

The mic for that radio is the same as the one for the tm-v71a which I believe you have.
