An Affordable Reading Product
Premier Programming Solutions introduces it's Venusoft Products-The Scan &
Read Lite, Scan and Read Pro and Text Cloner. All are low cost, high
performance OCR packages. Both Scan and Read packages have a built in speech
engine with 17 different voices to choose from. The voice and speaking rate
can be adjusted on the fly. Increasing or decreasing the speaking rate is as
easy as pushing a key. In fact, the entire system is designed for single
button processing. This means each major function can be done by pressing
one key. An example of this is the F5 key. By pressing the F5 key, the user
is able to retrieve the image from the scanner and convert it to text
allowing it to be read. The Text Cloner uses a visually impaired persons
existing screen reader so is offered at a lower cost. There are no settings
to worry about. The program is auto correcting to give Optimal Character
Recognition. The program will determine how the paper is positioned in the
scanner. It will automatically rotate the paper if the user puts the paper
in upside down, sideways or even crooked.
You are not limited to just scanned images, with Scan and Read Lite you can
open existing files, read them and it works with most standard word
processors. We are constantly updating our filter list so the Scan and Read
Lite will keep up with your word processor. Scan and Read Lite has two
views-the text only view and the image view. The image view allows you to
see what the scanner sees. Some of the Scan and Read Lite's unique features
are the optimized templates, and the 100,000 word dictionary. The optimized
templates let you choose a scanning method that is best suited for the
material you are scanning. Special Low Vision Features: Zoom Capabilities
the word processor can magnify up to 400 percent. Color Schemes: Select from
different color schemes - White text on black background, Yellow text on
Blue Back Ground and many more. Word Tracking: Scan and tracks the word
being read. Font Size users can adjust the font size up to 72 point. Fonts

of Free Disk Space, CD-ROM: 4X or faster, USB:USB is recommended but it will
work with SCSI or Parallel scanners, Scanner: Twain Compatible Scanners.
We have tested it with the following manufactures: Cannon, Umax, Hewlett
Packard, and Epson. The Recommended Scanners are the Epson 600 and 1200
Series. They are very fast and reliable. The Cannon N656 is fast, light
weight and portable. The HP 4100 Series is good, but it is not as fast as

Operating Systems: Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows NT 4.0 with service
patch 5. Although the program works with Windows 95, we do not support
Windows 95.
