This is incorrect, Ken.  The 40-30-30 ratio figures prominently
in both Entering the Zone and Mastering the Zone.  To his credit,
Sears has tended to relax his insistence on ratios from the first
book to his subsequent books. Still, he is pretty emphatic that
one should never eat fewer grams of carbs than grams of protein
(i.e., one's P-C ratio should not be higher than 1:1).  One of
the truly disappointing aspects of his books is the weakness of
the reasoning that he uses to support this.

And Sears is very much convinced of the benefits of long-term
caloric restriction, as can be seen in his most recent book, the
Anti-Aging Zone.
