I don't know about the guns, but the FDA did indeed raid a Stevia producer.
In addition to selling the sweetener, he also sold a cookbook.  Agents had
the audacity to mark the books, meaning they could not be sold.  Can you say
censorship?  He got a good lawyer and called the news cameras out and won in
the end.  But the FDA nearly put this man out of business.
