Wendy:
To install Windows 95 from an upgrade version, create in C:\ (i.e., the root directory of the boot drive) the following dummy files (at least one byte each):
win386.exe
gdi.exe
When you install, choose CUSTOM setup and de-select the nonessential components. You can always add them later via the Control Panel.
