I am one of those moms. I breast fed each of my children for 15 months,
except my middle child who is 16 months older than my last one. I breast
fed her for 11 months. I remember the comments i would get from other
mothers. *Why not feed them the old fashion way and give the baby a
bottle* Old fashion way? We can't get any more original than this. Or,
*oh my gosh look at that woman nursing her child, that is so nasty* I
would even nurse my children in restaurants, church, going shopping. And
if it offend someone then I say, then don't look. I never whipped one
out and did it in plain view, I was always discrete. My most favorite
was, *would you please nurse your baby in the bathroom, not here in
public* My response? *but of course, why don't you grab your plate and
you can sit on the commode and enjoy your meal as well.* However, the
many comments I received just made me sad for all those women who were
missing out on such a joy and closeness one gets from nursing a child.
Thank you Rachel for your wonderful letter. I realize my letter is not
paleo driven, but I did want to share.

Trish
