Grain fed has a less favorable omega6/omega3 lipid profile than grass fed.
Grains (grass seeds) are high in omega6, whereas green parts (leaf and
stalk) are high in omega3. The fat of the animal reflects this.
Loren Cordain has written some about this in the Paleodiet list some
2 years ago or a little later.
In Finland they feed some hens flax seed to make the w6/w3 ratio of
the eggs lower (=better).
