Greetings and salutations all;
Here's one that has 3 HP engineers as confused as I am and I hope
someone here has an answer.
Hardware:
Several workstations running NT Workstation, an HP 8100 printer with
a JetDirect card, and an HP 4M with a Jetdirect.
Situation:
One computer sends a document to print 1 copy to the 8100 and the
printer starts printing an infinite number of copies. This same
document is printed from any other computer prints just fine. Another
computer prints 1 copy of a Web page, and 10 copies print out. The
first computer can print the Web page just fine. Another computer
sends 1 copy to the 4M and multiple copies print, but when it sends
to the 8100 1 copy comes out.
Confused? so am I. I think I've eliminated software possibilities (eg
using the Microsoft 4M driver for the 8100 etc), but I was wondering
if anyone can think of anything in the network (or any other part of
the hardware) that might be causing this.
TIA and see you Monday
Jim
