I did not say fasting longer than one day was not beneficial. I even
mentioned the therapeutic value. However, if you go beyond one day, you will
start to canibalize your muscles. If you have a serious disease (e.g.
cancer) you might consider this a fair trade, but for those just looking to
lose a few pounds, it is not a good idea. Your daily caloric maintenance
requirements will drop with the muscle loss, making fat gains accelerate
should you ever stray from Paleo.
