I had this thought in mid slumber the other nite so it
might not be complete. Anyway, here goes.

The halted evolution of homo sapiens towards eating
grains can partailly be explained through modern
medicine and antiboitics. Children inevitably get
sick as most people do. With our understanding of
Paleodiet, eating grains can exacerbate this by
disturbing the mucosa. The child gets sick and the
parents take the kid to the Dr. Doctor Rx drugs to
combat and eventually illness is in check.

Now here comes the evolution. If there were no drugs
and antibiotics, some of these kid's infections would
be overwhelming and the kids would die. Those who do
not die must have pretty strong immune systems and be
better able to deal with grains in their diet.
Therefore a gradual evolution towards eating grains
would occur because these children would reach the age
of reproduction while the others would not.
