Dear Dan,

The acronyms are:
        MFC = Microsoft Foundation Classes (This is included in the Microsoft
Visual C++ package)
                 To find help on this just open the Microsoft Visual C++ help file, and
search on the phrase "MFC" or "Microsoft Foundation Classes"
                 This should open a tutorial page in the help browser. (In some versions
of the Microsoft Visual C++ package, it also includes
                 samples).
        SAPI = Speech API. This is downloadable from Microsoft's MSDN or
Accessibility Sites. It accommodate Text-to-Speech as well as
                 Speech-recognition. This SDK also includes samples for both Microsoft
Visual C++, and Microsoft Visual Basic.

Regards,
Deon
