Well, I've been out of the loop for too
long. My husband had deleted all my
personal messages for the last three
weeks, and I only recently discovered
why. Maybe now I'll be able to rejoin
you in the new millennium. This is my
own personal Y2K fiasco.

Sidewalk lights were available from
Circle Redmont in Florida in 1994 or 95.
We used them successfully to restore
the half-dome skylights at The Mother
Church in Boston. These had been
covered over during WWII as a black-out
precaution, and ruined with the asphalt.
Now they are restored and let natural
light into the church and stay
waterproof with a regular application of
a water-repellent.

1" SS welded mesh has been used for a
deliberately more permanent pigeon
preventive at The (same) Mother Church
on several stone ledges. This has been
in place for about 5 years now, doesn't
stain like the former copper, and it
really works. We are beginning to
selectively use the same thing at the
Nashville Parthenon. My source is
McNichols, and I could get the 800
number if someone needs it.

By the way, Jerusalem was awesome!
Interesting preservation strategies!
