Sorry Earl (and the list), I have been "playing" with this
same problem too long, and pestered the list with errors
in the past about it... The problem is: (I do _not _over-clock.)
I have been having no luck in getting Win95b on this
system unless I UNder-clock, and when I bring it up
to a normal speed, it trashes itself (lost registry, etc.
with/with-out any software installed in 5 to 30 minutes)
I have the AMD patch, the mother board patch(s), and active
cooling (heatsink/fan feel almost cold to me).
So... I was asking if I made some "dumb" errors in the exact
equipment I have currently installed. PS: System is stripped
bare with same results... One mistake I DID make was buying
everything (the new stuff) at separate Internet sites, and while
they are trying to be helpful, something is still "wrong".
I have two new WD 10g drives I took out at the "_first_ sign"
of trouble... (Drives were properly "cranked down" to DMA/33 .)
Did I create "more problems" while in the early stages of trouble
shooting by removing the new drives?
I started looking into _the_problems_ related to over-clocking,
as I seem to have those symptoms...
I do _not_ over-clock. (Never have.)
I have built computers before, but nothing anywhere near this
"cutting edge". I like to "catch up" after the bugs are gone...
I would like some opinions on the "old" hard drive as it would
be hard to "empty" one of the new ones at this point.
