Peter,
On both my USR and Zoom modems, the command to disable V.90 is given
through an S register. On these two modems the command is "ATS32=66".
S32 is the register. There is a comprehensive list of commands on the
3COM/USR web site, but I am on my Linux partition right now and don't
have the URL handy. If you do a search at http://www.3com.com you will
find it.
Of course, your modem may use completely different commands so please
check with your manufacturers web site first. using the wrong commands
could possible be fatal to the modem.
