Happy Holidays everyone!
Who was the missing person? Well for those of you who know how often I
e mail, I was the missing person and wanted to explain that I have been
away for medical reasons. Basically, the day after Thanksgiving my
shunt (I am hydrocephalic) failed, and I went to the hospital to start a
3 week stay due to the entire mechanism being possibly infected from a
low grade infection. What does that mean? It means that 27 years of
old hardware was taking out of my body, and totally new hardware was put
in. Was I scared? yes Was it dangerous? yes since part of the process
could of caused paralysis (which thank GOD did not happen). I am still
recovering psychologically and physically from the procedure but I will
be going back to work soon and my family gave me a tremendous amount of
support and advocacy. I am very glad to be back but it will be a while
till I get the webpage and the weekly webpage updates caught up since
the last month has been a total blur to me. If you are getting double
copies of this message I apologize in advance. I want to wish everyone
a happy holiday season and a joyous new year.

Sincerely,
Daniel R. Leopold, MA, MT-BC
