Plastic wood? Please define. Does this include the infamous Durham;s "Rock
Hard" Wood Putty -- subject of prior discussions on this very list? And,
what of epoxy fills with and without microballoons. I think we should get
together an informal discussion group on this topic at the Preserving the
Recent Past II Conference this fall. Just documented the use of "Bondo" as a
surface fill for architectural terra cotta -- Joan Berkowitz should be
invited to speak on this subject.

I would hope so. Tom "20th Century" Jester, do you know some plastic wood
specialists. How about Patricia Houlihan at The Museum of Modern Art? I
think
plastic wood is a good example of a 20th century material and we need people
that
understand how to care for this example of creativity and innovation.
Today's
milk jugs are tomorrow's park benches. Not too different from Masonite or
Celotex. They are all waste by-products and recycling is good. Sort of like
modern compo.
