This would be called modernism as far as I can remember.  We learned
Gropius, van der Rohe and Corb as the Holy Trinity of Modernism.

The post modernists used different forms - examples are Michael
Graves in Portland, Oregon, Philip Johnson (particularly the AT & T
Building), and Charles Moore (Piazza d'Italia in New Orleans). The
neo-mods used classical forms with modern flair.

The only nickname is have is "The Heritage Bi***" which I prefer not
to use in polite company.
