Definitely not Martha...I'm an Englishman (living in Germany). :-)

Raw string beans contain a toxin known as "phasine" (used in
small amounts as a diuretic by the phama industry).

Raw red and white kidney beans, as well as raw broad beans,
contain a toxin known as "phytohaemagglutinin".
