It might sound a bit crazy, but what I use is a battery pack from a cordless
phone. I usually have a few laying around anyway. I just snip off the
connector and solder it in place, then just attach it in some way to the
case (velcro would be good,). They work great, and will be charged by the
system. The batteries are so large, that they might even hold a charge for
years... :-)
Good Luck,
Steve Wolfe.......

Subject: [PCBUILD] ni-cad 3.6v cmos battery replaement
> I am trying to fix up Caliber 486sx-25 box but I'm having trouble finding
one of those batt. packs you velcro to the inside of the case. It has the 4
pin connector.I have no desire to resolder a new batt. to the mobo. The
computer itself runs fine except I have to enter setup to reset everything
before it boots into Win3.1. If there are any sites that sell these
batteries online, I havent found them. Please dont suggest lithium: I have
been told by a reliable source not to introduce a primary lithium cell into
a ni-cad rechargeable system. Thanks in advance for any replies.
