Troy,

Although a lack of calories may contribute to overall weakness and
"wooziness" I doubt that this reaction is because of lack of calories. It
sounds typically like a reactive hypoglycemic reaction. Sugar and grains
are notorious for causing blood sugar crashes. I have been able to feel a
lift in blood sugar for a mere moment or two before the crash.

Your advice about the fat, nuts and sardines would still help, but not
because of the calories per se, but because of the fat and protein. Fat
acts to stabilize blood sugar. Proteins release slowly and give a steady
energy supply.

Her "yearning" may indicate an addiction response. I was addicted to carbs
big time and even now, after years of avoiding sugar and grains, it only
takes one cookie to generate incredible cravings. It is an insidious
thing- much like alcoholism.

I would be curious to know if her blood sugar levels have been monitored.
She sounds like a very fast burner (oxidizes sugar rapidly).

Better advice still is - stay away from sugars and grains!

Louise
