Dig it! I went flyfishing the other evening and had to wade over
slippery rocks and stiff current. I was on the water only two hours or
so, but when I got home I could barely move and couldn't stand up
straight at all. I told my wife that it was because I was stooped over
the car's engine to fix a broken throttle cable. True, the cable was
busted, but the real reason I was messed up was that I was making my
body do things it really shouldn't have been doing.
But--doggone it!--it was worth it! It's been very difficult for me to
accept the idea that I "can't" do things that were once (not long ago)
easy, so I guess I'll just suck it up until I can't stand the pain
anymore. Kind of a cruel twist of fate for someone who loves the
"outdoors" so much to be given such a crappy body. Ha-rumph!
