Finally, my summary on medications and knowing if they are gluten free
prior to purchasing them:

Many people suggested the Stokes Pharmacy guide which can be purchased
for around $20 at (800)754-5222. The Guide is called Celiac Sprue Guide
through the Medicine Cabinet.

One person suggested making a list of what works for you and asking the
doctor to perscribe that.

It was mentioned that there is a leaflet in all of the meds that the
pharmacists receive-we can ask to see that pamphlet, it gives all
ingredients including fillers.

Talk to your pharmacist and build a relationship with him/her. They are
knowledgable and some celiacs have run into a pharmacist who goes out of
their way to help.

I asked my pharmacist about a drug I am taking. He had a 1-800 number for
just about every drug manufacturer. He called while I was there and
confirmed that my stuff was gf.

Most doctors/pharmacies
should have a book called the "Physician's Desk Reference." It will have
or should have all the telephone numbers of the pharmaceutical
companies.
