Personally, I don't trust scandisk, having seen it mark sectors
as damaged on drives that, when installed in another pc, format
has been able to recover 100% of the disk capacity.
I don't leave out the possibility that memory, etc. is effecting
the operating system to the extent that scandisk can not perform
a reliable test.

ScanDisk shows a recently installed 6.5GB HD has ten (10) bad/damaged
sectors after less than 120 days of operation (less than 500 hours actual
"on" time).
....................
Is this drive (slowly but surely) headed for total failure?
Opinions, ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Bob Deschamps
