Let me throw in my vote for the Logitech First Mouse +.  I got one at work
first and after getting used to it, (I write manuals and large documents 8
- 10 hours / day), I converted three PC's at home and bought one to use on
my laptop.  I've used the one at work now for about two years, 40-60 hours
per week and it is still going strong.  I have worn off the paint from the
logo though!
