I found this about the chip set (TL16CFM600APJM) in another modem: Model
0478 [87173100] (OEM "Greyhound") 56K Sportster Winmodem with speaker,
Gateway TelePath for Windows with X2, TI TL16CFM600APJM chipset. This does
not mean yours is only X2. It mean more research is needed.
I'm not sure you gave the FCC id number. I think on USR's modems it looks
like a bar coded stuck on sign. The numbers are long but they are the id
number and model all together. This sign in on the board itself. If this
modem is an internal you should be able to see the white with black letter
sign stuck to the board. If it is an external then you may need to take the
case off. If you don't feel secure in taking the case off then don't. Seek
other help.
