I haven't been following the list in a while, so I apologize in advance
if this kind of question has been asked before.
Computer specs:
O/S: Win98 Second Edition
CPU: 350MHz AMD-K6 3D
RAM: 128 MB
Issue:
I have an Acer CD-RW6206A 2x6 (Firmware v.1.6), and I burn using the
program Adaptec's EZ CD Creator v.3.5(105). My issue is that I had the
CD-RW for about a month or so and was able to burn audio CD's perfectly,
without problem. Then I left home for the weekend, came back, and I
wasn't able to record CD's anymore. All programs are closed when I try
to record. It tells me I have TrackWriter and I/O errors. In the
recording phase, the red write light is on when it is "preparing to
write the track", but then it breezes through the TOC phase (it's
obviously not burning at this point even though both the read and write
lights are lit), and ejects the CD-R disc. I'm oblivious to what the
problem is, so I've done a few things.
A) I disconnected my generic CD-ROM and removed the slave setting from
the CD-RW;
B) I thought it may have been the CD-R discs (Maxell CD-R74's), so I
tried burning onto another brand disc; and
C) I uninstalled/reinstalled the CD-R, the drivers, and the EZ CD
Creator program.
None of these worked. Can anyone help? I'd be SO grateful.
