I have to concur about potatoes - after partaking of this
Forbidden item, I get nasal congestion and wind. 'nuff said.

BTW an acquaintence said that she was advised by her Japanese
martial arts sensei to drink the juice from potatoes, for
some yin-yang "balancing" purpose or other. This kind of
traditional use of potato, not for long-term use, hints
at its unsuitability as a staple food. It is kind of a
joke in Japan that potatoes give one gas, and are viewed
as low, peasant food.
