Yes, I am interested in any solid evidence against brewer's yeast. I already
know it is good for the reasons you mention. It is also a good source of
chromium. However I want to give the paleo view the benefit of the doubt
here.
I think yeast is present in nature on the surfaces of plants but I suppose
the quantity is too low to justify inclusion in the default paleodiet. I
would hope the paleo position would also be justifiable in purely scientific
terms.

Hmm, have you seen any scientific research to support the idea that the
large amounts of DNA in yeast could promote allergies? I believe DNA (or
RNA) is present in every cell of every living thing.
I know brewer's yeast is approximately 50% protein, which is one reason I am
interested in adding it back to my diet. I want to use it as a natural
high-protein weight training supplement in lieu of whey protein powder which
is a processed dairy product.
