Ken,

I was a real home body in Austin this time in that I did not go out
much. We took the kids to my Mom's in San Antonio and, except for taking
the kids to Sea World, I did not get out much. Mom has just made a decision
not to
move to an assistive living center. She and her friends believe she can
maintain
her independence with a Medic Alert set-up.
I had an interesting experience at Sea World. I rented an electric
scooter to keep up and not drag my fat body around. The reactions I
received from people gave me a whole new perspective on how people in
wheelchairs function. The otter mascot insisted on shaking my hand. My
daughter has exaggerated that story all over the family. Anyway, it was
different. I really bonded with my granddaughter, Emma. The kid is scary
she is so smart for 18 mos.
of age. Her receptive language is incredible. Now, I am babbling like a
proud grandfather! LOL
