In Canada, if the vehicle is used to transport anyone with a disability (adults included), you can apply for a rebate of the sales tax when you buy it. You can also apply for a gas tax exemption if the vehicvle is used exclusively to transport someone with a disability.

No free taxes here to transport kids in Ct. Property tax is by town, but
if your car has special equipment ( like our ramp) & it is connected &
medically necc. Then with a doctors note, copy of bills & inspection..We no
longer are charged property tax on the van..a savings of about 900.00 a year
in our town.....mant towns have the same--but don't advertise it..There were
only 4 others in our town using it..but now that I have spread the
word..They tell me it's up to 18 or 19. Worth looking into--Joy
