What nice ideas Trisha! Is this poor woman agoraphobic also? Does she
have other interests? I like the group idea, that way there is less
pressure on her. I especially like the idea of discussing issues,
transportation, etc. Is Heritage Health Food Store still up and running?
Or the Hampton Roads Science Ficition Society or Ramblin Conrads? They
have a lot of great cheap ways to meet people. I know the SciCon usually
has a mixture of people coming in and is a fun way to meet people. I
wasn't into disability issues as much back then (at least not for adults)
and I've been gone awhile. Would she be interested in doing volunteer
work? I find that helps alleviate my nervousness. Gives me something to
do. Hope that helps.
May the Great Goddess smile upon her.
