I think Mr. Brown said a while back he had thrown out his TV.

After 10 years of commuting 4-5 hours per day I have gotten in the habit of
shutting off the radio and listening to my own head. This does not stop me
from spending 2 hrs. per evening watching the television. What I regret is
that the daily news occurs before and after my viewing slot. I don't watch TV
so much for information as that it forces me to have a reason to not move and
I do not have to make difficult decisions. For me TV is the Great
Immobilizer. I usually read while it is on. I watch JAG or Nash Bridges while
reading Wolf Solent or a book on breeding hedge hogs.
