As a window restorer, I think the advise that you have from BM tech is
correct.
From my understanding, the prime coat is designed chemicaly to bond to the
substrate (either raw wood or sanded paint) to create a barrier sp? and base
for the top coat.
In this light, just what function does the 1/1 mixture surve? As a layer
between the wood and paint, it seems to me that the 1/1 will inhibit the
function of the prime coat.
