There is a Tenement Museum in Glasgow, which I tried to get to but missed.
I have a feeling "tenement" in Glasgow refers to any sort of row-house type
apartment and this one may not actually be working class, but it sounded
fascinating. All the belongings of one woman who lived there for many
years just the way it was when she died.

I think they have some sort of preserved worker housing (boarding houses?)
     at Lowell.
