Move modem to com 4 and install organizer on 2. Although in some rare cases
this can cause problems under dos I have never known of an instance where
skipping com ports caused any problems under Windows. I ran a configuration
like that for several months.
As for the parallel port, SIIG makes an excellent & versatile dual parallel
card. I have one that plugs into ISA slot but I believe they now have a PCI
version available. The ports can be configured for nearly any combination
you could want.

Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] Three COM Ports
Hi there,
I am posting this again because I have not received any replies. I am really
desperate for a solution.
My system has been working fine with mouse on COM1 and external Modem
on COM2. However, now I have acquired a data organizer / synchronizer
for which the docking port has to be fixed to COM2. What should I do ?
I have two serial ports on the back of my computer which are from the
motherboard. I have also fixed an old i/o card because I wanted an
additional parallel port for my new inkjet printer (LPT1). My dot
matrix is on the LPT2 on the back of the system (from the m/b). The i/o card
also has a serial port. Suggestions welcome.
TIA.
Regards,
Ashok Bhiman
